A few common questions
Here are the basics people usually want to know before getting started. This is general information, not medical advice.
What is electrolysis?
Electrolysis treats one follicle at a time with a tiny probe and a small amount of energy. The goal is to prevent that follicle from producing another hair. Because hair grows in cycles, permanent clearance usually takes a series of sessions.
Does it hurt?
Sensation varies from person to person and from one area of the body to another. Many people describe it as a quick heat, sting, or pinch. We can pace the session, adjust settings when appropriate, and talk through comfort options.
How should I prepare?
Come in well hydrated, try to limit caffeine the day of your appointment, and keep the treatment area clean and free of makeup, lotion, or heavy products. The hair needs to be long enough to grab with tweezers after treatment, so avoid shaving right before your session.
